So I did some tunring yesterday and decided to try my hand at some captive rings out of a piece of juniper that I thought was not going to be good for much (I was so wrong, and I felt horrible making stupid rings out of such nice wood), and decided while I was at it to just make a bracelet for my girlfriend. This is my 5th or so ring-like object I made. I sanded it on the lathe but didn't finish it then because... I'm not sure, so i get to finish it by hand like a chump flat worker. It is still wet in these pics, but the next one I make will be finished on the lathe so it will hopefully turn out nicer. Anyways, on to the pics! It's about 6.5 cm across, and probably ~2cm tall.

And to think, this might not have happened if my bowl hadn't jumped off the lathe a few minutes prior.

That is one good looking braclet. I think she is going to like it. Great work.

Ok, I'll bite: how does one finish a loose ring on a lathe?
