Anyone know of any sawmills (or a source for "inexpenisve" rough-sawn lumber in Georgia or Alabama, preferably within a 100 mile radius of Columbus?

Thanks... sorry for the 'boring' post.... ~GRIN~

Thanks, Terry! Woodfinder looks to be a valuable resource!

I'll give him a call and see how it goes from there.

The best place around is Alex's in Layfette AL, located beside the RR near the fire department. That is where many of the Columbus Tech students go. They have plenty of rough sawn lumber (oak, popular, walnut, cypress, etc.).

They also have a badsaw mill and kilns if needed. Prices are very reasonable. Phone is 334/864-8514

Micheal - THANKS! That's only 40 miles from here. Heck, I drive half that just to go to work!

I'll give them a call tomorrow and see about visiting in the next couple of weekends.

Thanks again,

Matt
