I need/want an extra faceplate or two for my Central Machinery (Delta clone) lathe. It has a 1" outer diameter drive spindle according to the specs. I'm assuming any faceplate I get will need to be:

8tpi and 1" inner diameter

How is this denoted when looking at the description i.e- is this what I want:1" x 8 tpi x 2" ? I think this means 1" diameter, 8tpi, and 2" of outer faceplate diameter. I am just looking for a basic faceplate or two, does anyone know where I can get one fairly cheap?
Also, will any Delta or Jet-compatable faceplate work?

Rock--er wwing sell small faceplates for about $8.00. It dosn't come with a hub so you buy what is necessary, 3/4" 16 or 1" 8 or whatever. The hub is about $5.00 additional.

I think Packard has some aluminum plates (2 1/2")for around $20-25. I've got two since they were the cheapest I could find at the time.

Edit: I checked and it is Craft Supply who has them. The 1"x8tpi 2" are $19.99 and the 3" are $21.99.

Sears has their 4" Cast Iron faceplate for $20 and the 8" for $25. They are both 1" X 8 Tpi
