i just finished up this maple farm table for my fil who lives in vermont.will deliver it next weekend.the top and aprons are 5/4 " hard maple.bought the legs from osbourne wood products, don't have a lathe.the glue up was the largest i have attempted,it measures 39"x83". i did it in 4 stages using biscuits for alignment.used general finishes maple gel stain and wipe on poly.thanks for looking.

good looking table! Was wondering what you did for an edge treatment (hard to tell from the picture but it looks like a partial round over?) How tall are the aprons? M&T joints?

jason thanks,i used a 3/4" round over bit dropped down about a 1/8".the aprons are 4" high.they are attached to the legs with pocket hole screws and then i used corner braces bolted to the legs with hanger bolts.i'm pretty pleased with that setup, the table is very sturdy.

Fred, How did you get the table flat? Did you use a wide belt sander?

tom i used a handheld belt sander.it's a 4"x24" bosch and it's a beast.the top isn't perfectly flat, but it's pretty close.unfortunitly i don't have access to a wide belt machine.i'm now thinking of getting the festool rotex,i understand it can remove alot of material very quickly without the sanding marks left by the belt sander.
