I logged this ash a while back, and then milled the logs and then dried it in my solar kiln. I made this for my SIL and tried amber shellac on top of stain to see what it would look like. I was trying for a country rustic look as that is what she wanted. It was fun working with the ash as I haven't really used it a ton. I did manage to get several 2' wide 10' long slabs out of the log it was a big tree. Best of all it was free:D

Very nice job. I especially like the grain on the panel in the doors.

Looks good George.
Ash is much nicer to work with than oak in my opinion.

Very nice, George. I also enjoy working with ash, although I don't use much of it. I love the smell and it's very workable.

Very nice. I think you captured the rustic tone well. Like John said, that grain really gives extra interest to those doors.

Looks great George! I'm working on an ash display table myself, and really like working with it so far.

Very cool that you've taken the wood from log to beautiful furniture yourself!
