Craftsman Plunge Router Base Interchange

I have a Craftsman 1/4 " collet 1 1/2 HP router (that I seldom use), but it came with a plunge base. I have a chance to pickup a Craftsman 2 HP "Professional" router with a 1/2" collet. With this minimal amount of information, can anyone tell me if the Plunge Base will interchange? I have had conflicting answers from the sales staff at Sears.

Buy it, try it, if it doesn't work take it back? Except for the Red & Silver 'bosch' craftsman router, I don't know of any Sears routers with interchangeable bases, but then I'm not well versed on C'man stuff.
