Bias? Turning

This is a bowl type thing I turned for a turning challenge at WR. Started as a 4"x4"x5" block. Cut a small flat on opposite corners and mounted between centers until I had a tenon. Then mounted in Talon and finished it. It's apple with tung oil finish.

I wouldn't want to get my hands anywhere near it when it's turning. It is a really nice piece. Did you boil it to "set the sugar" before turning?
