As I await the arrival of my lathe (or I should say the head, tail and tool rest banjo thing, I have the bed, and motor) I ordered the Bowl Turning DVD from one Mr. Bill Grumbine.

It came in no time at all, but alas, the DVD came off it's little mounting nub, and was scratched all to heck:mad:

I tried to watch it, but it skips, refuses to play certain parts, and sometimes Bill looks like a cast member of a Godzilla movie, his lips are moving, then 2 seconds later we hear what he says.

I sent an e-mail, and right away Bill replied to me, apologizing and promising to send me another DVD PDQ, which he has done.

Now that is attention to customer service, and for that I thank you VERY much Bill.

From what I can see of the video, it looks VERY good, and all I can say is

.......WHERE IS MY LATHE!!!

If anyone is on the fence about ordering this Video, just order it!!

Cheers!

Stu.........I ordered mine on a Thursday evening and it was here on Monday. The flimsy box had broken in the mail but the DVD is great as you so stated!

Order it!

I agree...watching Bill do what he does so well is like sitting down with an old friend shooting the breeze...just plain comfortable. It's the only DVD on turning/woodworking that I didn't fall asleep watching.

I feel your pain. The scratching can't be helping and is probably most of the cause. I get the same video/audio disconnect when I play it on an older DVD player. Pop it in a newer player and see what happens. I find that Bill's DVD will only play on my new player. Must be the encoding used.

I got the DVD and enjoyed. It is one I will go back to many times and review. I would love to meet the man. Bet he is a fun person. My only complaint, I haven't been able to go in my work shop and even look at my cheap lathe after watching him on that one he has!

Not only that, I paid only $100 for it, new in the box, at a store with a 2 year warranty!

Door crasher sale, and I'm kind of hard to move out of the way when I want something :D

Cheers!
