If you were going to resaw on an 18" BS would you use a 2TPI blade or would a 4TPI be a better all around choice? I do a lot of cutting of tree limbs with the bark on to make natural looking frames, and I also cut thicker "clean" planks into thinner stock. So should I get both and switch them out all the time(big pain in the neck) or settle for the 4TPI and live with a faster replacement rate? I use a well known north-woods carnivore blade:rolleyes:

When resawing in thick materials, especially wet ones, you want a blade that clears the kerf efficiently. For that reason the 2-3 TPI blade designed for that kind of cutting is the best choice, IMHO.

Jack I use a Timberwolf blade with 2 tpi if I am cutting green wood. If I am cutting dry wood for 1 by lumber I use 3 tpi. The 2 tpi on green wood keeps the kerf pretty clean and cuts pretty well. I cut up green logs into bowl blanks with it.
