Hey all,

I'll try to explain.

I'm ready to begin building a surround for a ~3' x 4' stained glass window that will eventually be back lit and hang on a wall in a church. The window will be sitting inside basically a backless box that will be ~6-8" deep. On top of the box and window frame will be a faceframe. As the design calls for qtr sawn white oak (first time using) what do I need to be concerned with when fastening the faceframe? Can I use pocket screws? What about biscuits? The direction of the faceframe rails/stiles will be that same as the box (i.e. 2 horizonatal and 2 vertical). Am I reading too much into this?

Any info would be most helpful. If any further explaination is needed, please let me know.

Thanks,
-joe

Pocket screws would be fine or just use glue as it doesn't sound like something that's going to be stressed. You could also cut a rabbit for the face frame to sit in. I'd let the frame overhang a bit and sand flush later.
