This was setting in the shop for a long time and spalted on me! It was a large bowl blank, that I never got to so I cut it and made a HF from part of it. It measures 8" tall X 5 3/4" wide. The collar is made from ebony, finish is wipe on gel poly, and buffed on the Beall. And there is a little curl in places.

Jim,
I gotta say, I think you are doing awesome things in relation to form. You have a natural eye and practice is paying off. Another nice project.

Jim...You do such nice things with wood. A real beauty! Great form and finish too. I tried a spalted maple vase but it is so filled with cracks that I'm not putting it back on the lathe. :o

Jim, in woodturning, good things come to those who procrastinate! Aren't you glad you didn't get roundtoit 'til now?:) Nice looking piece!

Beautiful form, Jim. You did a good thing "sacrificing" that bowl blank for such a wonderful hollow vessel! :)

Can we assume the collar is a simple flat profile similar to the previous piece?
