I'd like to hear from anyone who has used Lamello hinges a few times. How easy are they to install with the accuracy necessary for the door to work properly? For what it's worth, I'd be installing them with a Lamello biscuit joiner.

Has anyone here used them for a full overlay door on a free-standing cabinet? I see a couple of possible problems with that, so I'd like to hear from someone who's tried it.

Norm Abram used these while back on a project and I found them interesting. I just haven't found a project appropriate so far. One thing that is obvious...you really need to have your biscuit cutter "dead on" when you cut your "slots" or it could be easy to ruin the doors...and costly if it's premo material. You have to span the gap between the stile and the door perfectly.

BTW, there are a whole bunch of other interesting fasteners available for use with biscuit slots that permit one to build really big things knock-down...something I may try at some point, too.
