A""Valentine" - "Hart"" Box; Local Wild Cherry

Hi Gang,

Several pages back, Carole Valentine noted a question in her thread titled "Boxes?"
A number of good answers were given, some looking at it from different prospectives.
John Hart looked at it from an engineering stand point.
Some folks thought the tenon should be on the top and yet others thought it should go on the bottom.
I personally didn't think it made a never-mind.

So the inspiration for my Valentine Hart Box.

The box is local black cherry, 4.5"t x a tad over 2.5"w. Finished with only 3 coats of lacquer.
Now if I get the photos in order -- The first two are the box and how it is used with the tenon on the bottom. The next two photos, a different prospective with the box, are how it may be used with the tenon on the top.

Just having some fun, this is what I turned today,

Funny, you should do that Bill! I was thinking to myself after I asked the question, that I could make the box so it could sit either way! I still haven't had time to do ANY box yet though. Nice job!:)
