You can zoom in and out in Windows by holding down the <Ctrl> key and using the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. If you click on the desktop, you can make the desktop icons larger or smaller. I tested it in Chrome and it works to zoom the whole page in and out.

Tom's statement indicates he is using a Macintosh computer.

The Command + is useful as is the Command -. These are "sticky" in that they remain until reversed. Sometimes to capture a full image shrinking it via Cmnd - is used. My use always counts how many times the - key was pressed to be able to return the screen to what it was by then pressing the + key the same amount.

Also note, in reality one is pressing the = key since the shift key is not involved.

If you have a later version OS and mouse it is possible to lightly double tap (not a double click) the mouse to zoom a window or image. Undo the zooming by again double tapping the mouse. (this can sometimes cause a second zoom) Note that this works in various ways depending on where the curser is at the time.

When trying to zoom text the longest line is selected. Choosing the shortest line may cause the longer lines to run off the edge of the window. Tapping on a small image will affect a greater magnification than tapping on a large image.
