So you've just resaw'ed some lumber. Might be veneer, might not. What do you do next? I only have one point of reference; DJ Marks who seems to follow up resawing with the Drum Sander.

I chose "other" I usually put it through the wide belt sander

I have used all of those things on the list and more, depending on the situation and workpiece. For that reason, I couldn't click on the pole. The jointer also plays a role in restoring a flat surface for the subsequent passes when cutting thin materials from the same board over and over.

Depends on thickness. Planer or drum sander

I've used all the options except the card scraper. Generally, though I resaw, joint and then plane.;)

how thin can you work while planing, or, I guess, how do you hold down thin resaws to plane?

dan, i can run 3/16 through the planer, just shove `em in....02 tod

1/8" is as thin as I've done.
My planer manual suggests that thats the limit.

Use a backer board to support the thin material.

Drum sander as most of my resawing is for 1/8" or less stock. Planer can't take it that thin. :D

I always use buzzer (jointer).
