Painted mantle # 2

My second attempt at building a painted with white satin lacquer mantle. MDF in the top and sides really increased the weight. I made ruff base using 1x6 and 1/2" ply for the gas unit to sit on, and after the furnace guy get's it ruffed in I add the tile, then take measurements for the mantle. The hand carved crest came from Lee Valley :D , and some HD poplar crown moulding adds to the look :cool: .
