I kept this on a nail in the shop in a corner out of the way, but managed to knock it off the nail this morning and when it hit the concrete floor it broke part of the end at the lever handle. Oh well.

Anyone use this Harbor Freight unit?

Don't use it often only when I use my router or 8" hand saw for trimming edge to large to do on the table saw.

Thanks.

Sounds like a good excuse to get track saw Brian ;)

I’d probably save up for a track saw, but I’ve seen this one used before by a friend and it seemed to work pretty good.

I got mine from McMaster - alum bar stock. Examples - 1/4" x 2" x 48" @ $22; 72" @ $31

no shortage of small-ish clamps around here to hold it in place.

That's a reasonable way to go. thanks brian

Just yesterday I bought a 20' length of 1/4 X 2 aluminum flat stock at the metal supply house for $60. Easy to cut to whatever length you want. Check your supply stores before paying over $5 a foot plus shipping.

I purchased this Pittsburgh model at Harbor freight for $18. Pads are softer and have a little more swivel to them, but it clamps tight and straight edge looks straight. When fully clamped down it does raise the clamp off the surface a little? Not sure why, but it was still in line with the marks. Thanks. Brian
