I love visitors to the workshop, even when I am in a build (chairs at this stage).
First Alex, the son of a good friend arrived with a Jarrah slab he plans to use in a bathroom. It was cupped and needed to be planed coplanar.

Then Karen arrived the next day. She is a wonderful artist, "painting" in glass. She also brought along a live edge Jarrah slab, thankfully a lot smaller. This needed to be turned into a stand for her piece. Basically, it needed a groove to hold the lower edge. Slab glass, however, is not flat: so, first a groove was routed, and then a scribed filler was added to create a perfect fit. She was thrilled with the result, but us woodworkers know it was not a big deal. Her forest scene in glass, however, is the real deal. Stunning!
