More practice: This is a small vase turned out of red oak. The oak this came from fell two years ago. I decided since I now have this lathe, and am in need of practice, to cut a section and see what pops out. Here it is.

Hi Chris:
Your vase is very nice. I got to get lathe. I would love doing stuff like you are doing.
As a person who uses vases everyday, try making your next vase with a little wider neck with narrower more rounded shoulders. I think you will find that design desirable.

Another nice one Chris. Are you putting test tubes in them... where do you get them if you are?

No test tubes. I'm not that sophisticated yet. That is a great idea though. I had not thought of that. Thanks for the comments, have a great night.

These are very good for practice, they look good, and soon you will be turning thin hollowforms....keep it up.
