A Good Bench Ruined!
The only good thing there is the Emmert vice.

What a crying shame. And I bet that beautiful vise never sees use again. Really makes me sad.

It's a hate crime against wood.
I can't even begin to say how much everything about that disgusts me.

Sorry to disagree, but the epoxy probably will hold it together just fine. Epoxy is not cheap, and maybe blue was the only color they had. The bench is still in usable condition.
That being said, I think it's the blue color that many find disturbing. I'm not a fan of that color having been used either, but then it's not my bench either.
As long as the person using it is happy, then that's good enough.

Nearly a poetic level of destruction. Are those dogholes filled in with epoxy? The perp has either an excellent sense of humor or pure evil in their soul. Might be worth reaching out and inquiring...

The question is did a pour he was doing on top of the bench break the mold and drain into the bench? Or was this deliberate. 4k? I guess he was hoping to get a new high end bench in place of his broken one

Good question/observation. Still.

Of course, just the fact the seller is asking 4K does not mean he will get it. I also wonder if the makers idea was to turn the bench for use like a countertop or something in a rustic or odd settings (bar?) It certainly seems like an odd thing to make without a buyer in mind - which is my other thought, this was made to spec for some buyer who then flaked out, and seller is just trying to get their money back.

I was wrong about one of Forrest's quotes fitting. Actually two do and neither are the one about a box of chocolates.

Probably worth it if it comes with the table saw on the shelf underneath...

(I'm positive about my opinion, but the older I get the less sure I am that my taste is any more valuable that anyone else's unless taste results in actions that cause clear harm. And also agree that history and intent matter-maybe it was a 'happy mistake'!).

And I would like the vise!
