I have a friend who has and older 28" 4.6 hp Laguna Band Saw. He bought it and installed it in his garage just to find out it's way too much saw for his needs. It has only been used about 6 hours and I'm trying to help him set a value on it. It has some great features like a built in moblie base and a $250 carbide tooth 1 1/2" blade. Anybody out there have any ideas.

You may find that the market value is higher than the ave. guy can afford for such a big saw. OTOH, I would love to have a saw that big. Where are you? What power is the motor? 220/1, or 220/3ph?

I would suggest looking at the price of a new LT-26 on the Laguna Tools Website. Consider the mobility base new is about $180 additional. With the high end bandsaws, Laguna usually includes the carbide tipped blade as a sales incentive, so don't expect that to add any additional value. With a saw that new, I would expect it to be 80% of new or perhaps higher.

We are located in Davis, CA, just outside of Sacramento. The saw has a 220/380 3ph motor. He also has a Phasemaster phase convertor for sale to bring it to single phase if need be.
