This was my first experience with English Walnut. It turned like butter and does not have as open a grain as our Black Walnut. The color is also a little different. This piece is bare wood - not even buffing or wax. Yeah, Andy, I've decided that the best way to keep track of finishing is NOT to finish!:D

Very nice, Carole!

I've got a couple of small pieces of EW that I need to give a spin.

Thanks for the picture!

That really is some pretty wood Carole and you did a cool Itty Bitty. Nicely done! Did you hollow it out to match the outside wall?

Of course I did, John! What do think - I am some sort of slouch?:D:D:D The walls are a little less than 1/8"

Carole you certainly have the "eye" and talent for flowing form!

No comment on what you are calling it, however the turning is outstanding and the prep for finishing looks flawless. Should look great when you finish it.
OK, I'll ask, what is a pocket pot? Can one get in trouble with this device.:D

Bill, "pocket pot" is a term that I think was coined by Molly Winton. Just a little tiny hollow form. Probably will leave this one natural with no finish.

OK, that sounds good. As to the size of it, I didn't think it was something one would carry in there pocket on a hiking trip, for an emergency situation.:D

Now Andy, check this one out, no oil, no foil, no boil. No wipe on, no wipe off. No blo, no soak time, no schedule. Just part it off and it's done.

Can't beat that.

Hey Carole, just from your posts I've read and seen I didn't take you for the pocket pot type:D :D . But that sure is a nice little pot. That's some finish too for not having a finish.

That is very nice Carol, I can't believe you haven't polished or finished that piece. I love that.
