drilling rockler ellipse jig

I have a Rockler circle/ellipse jig and the three hole pattern doesn't match up with a Makita trim router I'd like to use with it. When drilling additional holes, does the router need to be precisely lined up with the centerline of the jig?

In my head I'm thinking no it doesn't matter? :confused:

I’ve made lots of elliptical stuff , but last one was was about 15 years ago. Used the string method and I think it is the most accurate.
There are a number of ,kinda’ like an ellipse things that make stuff ugly.
