I bought some pre-turned table legs to make a farm table. They are rubberwood. Looks kind of like a light oak-ish material.

Any suggestions on wood for the rails, aprons and top? I would think the apron and rails should be somewhat close to the legs in terms of grain and color, but the top could just harmonize.

Rift sawn poplar, without any green, might work.

Why not oak?

Or you could paint the rubberwood legs. The grain and color of rubberwood is not particularly attractive, so painting the legs gives you the shape you like. And you get to use any species you like for the top. See Ken Fitzgerald's currently running thread about dining table woods.
