Hey folks - I know many of you have the Wen belt/spindle sander (#6524) or the Ridgid one (EB4244). I'd appreciate it if one of you could measure the height of your machines--including the spindle. The specs on the various websites don't all agree, and before I buy one or the other I need to make sure they would fit into a (big) shop drawer where they will live much of the time. Thanks in advance.

My measurements may not be useful, since my Ridgid sander is maybe 30 years old, and it's model number is EB44241. I looked at the model number carefully a couple of times, that's my model.
The table height is 13 3/8" above what it's sitting on.
Spindle plus hold down knob is 5 1/8" above table.
Belt sander plus hold down knob is 5 3/8" above table.
Belt sander tracking adjuster is 5 3/4" above table.
These were measured with the oscillation at maximum height.

So to clear it in the belt configuration, you need 13 3/8" + 5 3/4" + something extra = 19 1/8" +
I had a problem with a wall mounted cabinet door hitting the adjust knob until I put the sander on a free standing cart.
