Going to be visiting some friends Oct 7-13. Any woodturning related things/events/suppliers, etc. I need to check out? Any suppliers for burls at reasonable prices?

You might ask for a tour of Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Art and Design. They have a degree program in furniture design as well as sculpture, ceramics, metal and glass among others. I believe Tage Frid taught there before moving to RISD, and Wendell Castle's school merged with the furniture program.

I remember Jack Benny frequently calling “Oh Rochester”. Rochester was his butler- house-keeper, I guess the town was named for
him.

Robber: Your money or your life!... Well?
Benny: I'm thinking about it.
