Curly Bowl

I was told this was Chinese elm that I rough turned last year.

Lots of curl and crazy grain patterns (I kept thinking there was tear out but it felt smooth - I probably sanded three times longer than I needed to trying to get rid of it but it’s just the funny grain). Just over 16” in diameter. Finished with medium walnut Watco Danish oil to pop the curl.

I still have the cored centers to finish turn - I think it’s going to make a beautiful set.
