I noticed today in a new catalog I received there is a new drum sander with the brand name SuperMax. They are made in the USA and look just like the Performax sanders before the Jet tool buyout. Anyone know if this is connected to the old Performax brand of sanders? I also noticed in the same catalog that the Jet drum sanders are no longer called Performax. Just tagged with the JET name.

When I saw that photo, something looked really odd to me - then I realized: That's not a sander, that's a wide format inkjet printer!

But the Performax website still seems to list things as "Performax" rather than Jet:

This former part of Performax was sold off and now is an independent company. From what I can see in their recent add and your picture, it's pretty much the same machine it was prior to the business changes.

Hmmm.....
This looks interesting. I felt the performax designs of the past were more appealing than the ones today. So this will be worth the followup.

Where are these guys selling these anyway? Got any agent contact names? Has anyone got any expreience with these units as of now?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I for one will be checking these guys out.

I have the Supermax 25x2. It works pretty good, but one of the drums is about .004" out of round. It is the second drum and if I swapped them, it probably would not bother. It has a 5hp Leeson motor for the drum drive and variable form 0 to something feed drive.
