We are continuing to set new records every month. In January 2006 we received over 19.6 Million hits, served 179,794 pages and 9.3 million files.

Overall we are nearly 300% above our numbers this time last year. Guests continue to exceed our Members accessing our Forums every day, this accounts for much of the huge growth in our web statistics.

Well Keith,
I don’t know quite what it is that Admin. and the Mod Squad do to keep this place flowing, but I surely thank you all for it!
Frank

Keith, How many posts a day are you getting now? Seems it's doubled or better in the last few months.

It's taken a curve upward, definitely.

Last January (2005): 10,000 new posts
...
Nov 05: 13,500
Dec 05: 18,300
This January (2006): 24,000 new posts

Having a mystery package arrive in Idaho yesterday probably didn't hurt, either. ;)

Vaughn,

I just viewed your new thread on the Incra Stuff you won. Combined with the new goodies you purchased it makes for a really nice table saw configuration. The SMC Member who donated the Incra Stuff was very kind in doing so, and the support group here is second to none.

It takes exceptional administrators and moderators to keep great forums like our SMC running so smoothly with this much traffic. My thanks and admiration to you Keith and to everyone else who give so much to keep SMC so great! Thanks!

Hi Keith,

With that many hits, wouldn't selling ad space be a piece of cake?

Just a newbie thought:) .

SMC's charter is specifically to be advertising free. We do have our manufacturer's forums that help to support SMC and allow vendors to have an uobtrusive presence here and recently added Bowclamp to the lineup. Outside of that...we're non-commercial all the way and intend to stay that way if we can.

If you would, please define what a "hit" is, or what counts as a hit.
Thanks
Scott

Scott:

Hit - a satisfied request for a file from the server. (Includes pictures/images)

Pages - a satisfied request for an HTML page from the server

Visit - an uninterrupted collection of pages and hits from the same IP address for 45 minutes. e.g. If I surf SMC every 30 minutes for an 8 hour workday, that counts as 1 visit. If I surf every hour, that's 8 visits.

KBytes - the total bandwidth used in downloading from the server
