Hi folks, I just took over a beautiful old (1950's? 40's?) Jonsereds 59413 bandsaw. I can't find any information about it. I'm new to bandsaws and have watched everything I can on safety and use on YouTube but if love to learn whatever I can about this model just for fun but possibly also for safety reasons.
It has the original fence which I think is also pretty neat.
The first I noticed watching bandsaw videos is that they mention that it is dangerous to let run while the doors to the wheel covers are open. Well, it's safe to say I'm afraid to let it run until I cover the wheels somehow. It has a foot brake beside the lower wheel. I don't want to even turn it on without folding my laces into my boots.
How might you folks go about covering the wheels? I see that a previous owner has drilled and tapped two holes near the wheels.
At any rate, here are some pictures: https://imgur.com/a/9r6bg87
I think it's beautiful and I'd love to restore and paint it to it's former glory!
