Okay!

John's not on line - hasn't been since 10PM or so. My guess is that he fell asleep since it's waaaaaaaaaay past his bedtime.

So... I'm starting it for him cause I'm pooped and need some shut eye myself.

So... Have at it. Post away

John - Sure hope I haven't messed up your plans, or over stepped my role. Humbly apologize if that's the case. And feel free to make this thread null and void as needed.

EDIT: 8:40 AM WED. FEB 1. --- DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD ANYMORE!

JOHN FINALLY WOKE UP AND GOT THE BALL ROLLING OVER IN THE GENERAL WOODWORKING FORUM. HERE'S A LINK (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=30455)

MY GUESS IS THAT YOUR POSTS HERE DO INDEED COUNT, BUT HEAD OVER THERE AND "DOUBLE DOWN".

I've been one of those "lurkers" for the past few months after I stumbled across a log and fell into this creek. The amount of information and sense of community is amazing here - definitely the best woodworking forum I've found on the internet.

What kicked me over the edge from "lurker" to "contributor" was that incredible act of kindness those whacky turners pulled by sending a fellow member a new lathe. While I'm limited to the tablesaw and scrollsaw at the moment, I expect to find a lathe in my shop oneday soon.

So, a big THANKS to all of you for making this an amazing place!

Welcome Barry,
Stick around here and you will find much more than a new lathe in your shop. I cannot tell you how many thousands of dollars I have saved on tools since I joined up with these Creekers!
Tools are a better investment than gold, right?

Welcome Barry, the water sure is fine here, if populated with a Nuts (in the best sense of the word ;) ).

I'm still waiting on my lathe, but I've got a mess of pen blanks and bowl blanks cut up and waxed just waiting...... :D

Cheers!
