Garage Sale "Treasures"
504748
$3? Then another $2..
504749
For these two....Then $10 for..
504750
A Sargent made for Sears/Fulton No. 410c...

Not everything was "Rusty"
504751
$5 for a cardboard box?
504752
Well, once I got all the charts moved out of the way..
504753
With most of the tools having "Made in Italy" marked on them...along with 3 boxes of H2 Leads...

Not too bad of a Rust Hunt? Spent $20 total, today....

No. 410c?
504754
Yes, a WIDE bodied c model..
504755
Rear handle was beyond any help from me, though...
504756
Clean, de-rust, repaint as needed....replaced the rear handle...
Frog?
504757
Is a Type 3...yet the brass depth adjuster has a steel center, and is Right hand threaded..Type 2?
504758
Underside of the lever cap has a #418 and a #422....Rest of the parts cleaned up well, iron has been sharpened back up, and Unicorned...

504759
Sole was easy to flatten...
504760
Front knob does have the bead around it's base...
504761
Apparently, a frog adjust bolt was a "Stanley" thing, back then....110 years ago.

So, NOW I have a pair of No. 4-1/2c planes....one by Stanley ( Type 11) and one by Sargent ( Type 2/3)

had a spare (cracked base) Jack plane, with a decent tote....Tote and hardware were re-cycled onto the Sargent...with no problems...

Stanley cost me $80....The Sargent cost me $10.....Not too hateful of a day?
