Which festool jigsaw blades to get

Festool can be such a pain with analysis paralysis. All my never use because they are crap jigsaws in the past have been pretty much "here is a wood blade that cuts poorly or a metal blade that cuts poorly". I'm looking to get the Festool jigsaw and I'm looking at the blades and getting frustrated by the complete lack of information on what all the letters mean and which blades I want.

OK, S is steel, the #/# is length in mm and distance between teeth. R is reverse. What is K and FSG? Is there a reason I should get an S75 instead of an S145? If I had both is there a time I'd want the shorter one?

And yeah, I've been roped into the Festool system, it's just so convenient once you have some Festool to stay with Festool for all the new tools.

I believe FSG is fast-perpendicular blades and K are for scroll-saw type applications.

I don't over think it myself. I have maybe 5 or 6 blades I buy in bulk with great results.

I've no complaints and don't apologize for being invested in the Festool system myself and you shouldn't either.

I don/t know anything about the Festool jigsaw but I assume the blades are universal fit. I would get Bosch blades. They are excellent and you can get them at the BORG.

How quickly it can eat through material maintaining a certain speed/pressure and the shape of the blade. It's really not all that different than blades made for other general use tools. Think of it as similar to different types of blades for your table saw depending on purpose.

I like shorter blades the longer they get the more likely you nick something you shouldnt and I feel like they stay truer when shorter.

The Bosch ones. This holds true for OMT cutters as well. The Bosch have outlasted all others I have tried by an order of magnitude.

May be true for you , but lots of owners have complaints about Festool’s tools and practices. Their stuff while very good is not perfect and is sometimes even lacking. They have been waaaaaay behind on EC / brushless motors and their 12v lineup is a joke. Then there was their initial denial of the Kapex motor issue only to be followed by a seemingly unnecessary motor upgrade in later models.
