I recently did some maintenance on my 4" Delta belt sander, and I seem to have produced two new problems to replace the first one.
First, (and I realize this is a cliche), when I put it back together I had a part left over. It is the round plate shown below. It looks like it should fit over the bearing, but the screw holes don't line up--they're different distances from center.
Second, the belt no longer tracks. It moves all the over away from the sanding disc. I've turned the track adjustment as far as it can go--the spring is flattened--and that's not enough.
