I want a device for power sanding the inside of tall narrow necks and hollow forms. Does anyone make a long split-end mandrel that will hold a flolded flag of sandpaper or do I need to have one custom made by a machine shop? I could make a wooden one but steel would be stiffer and more stable for the 6 and 12" lengths I want, and more suitable for a threaded end.

Not split but here is a photo of tool that I made for sanding inside a hollow form.

I use a 10 or 12 locking hemostat with either a folded patch of sand paper or I tightly wrap the sandpaper around a piece of stiff(er) foam rubber. The foam rubber is from one of the harbor freight standing mats.

The curve of the hemostat works well getting into the curves of a hollow form.
