Figured I'd share this, as some others may find it useful. File this under "unexpected shop tools". I've never been happy with my process of scribbling notes/measurements in the shop. I keep note pads and pencils around, but they always get themselves lost.
A solution presented itself in the form of these writing boards targeted to kids. My kids enjoy them for a car rides, and it struck me that they may be useful in other situations. I threw a two pack in the shop and just use them. The multicolor is a bit odd, but they make single color if I cared enough. Definitely working better for me than previous efforts.
