Recap:

The protagonist in the book/movie is Capt Yossarian, a bombadier stationed in Italy in WWII. He believes that everyone is trying to kill him, either by shooting at the plane he's in, or by sending him on missions where he can get killed. He can't get certified as crazy, because anyone who wants out cannot be crazy. And if you're not crazy, you have to keep flying. That's the Catch 22.

Yossarian's main goal is to "live forever, or die trying".

In the original movie, he was played by Alan Arkin, who died yesterday at age 89.

He tried.

Wow, I saw that movie over half a century ago and until now didn't even know Alan Arkin played Yossarian.

I've often confused Alan Arkin with Christopher Walkin. It might be their voices.

Catch 22 has been entered to the top of my Netflix DVD list.

“Well, he died. You can’t get any older than that.”

Lol, that's an awesome quote.

I never watched the movie. I did like the book in a 'what the hell am I reading?' sort of way. Kind of like Sound and The Fury. There's a scene that I don't really need to see acted out in the movie involving a low flying plane....
