I have seen, on You Tube, edge grain cutting boards with thin accent boards in non-wood colors. Two examples I have noted are red and yellow.
It would seem that if a dye or oil base stain were used they would bleed or lose their color very soon with use.
Any info?

There are red heart and yellow heart exotic woods. Also mulberry and osage orange domestic yellow wood.
