I haven't been totally sitting on my duff. Here are a few pieces...the finish is not completed on any of them. The first is Pear with Blackwood finial, the second is Silver Birch (turned green so the neck warped a bit), the third is dyed Maple, and the fourth is Walnut.

Mighty pretty, Carole! Are they as small as they appear? I think I like the pear and the walnut best but I am sure any of them would look great in my collection.....:D

Some more My-T-Fine turnings! My favorite is the Silver Birch vase. Wish you lived closer so I could take some lessons from you :D

Wow, those are awesome, Carole! :) Now, we've all come to appreciate your eye for form but, the finish on those is killer, as well! What's your finishing schedule on them??? Beautiful! :D

Thanks, John. As I said they are not finished. They have the third coat of Waterlox. When cured they will be knocked back with 6/0 steel wool or micromesh (depending on my mood and if I decide that will be the last coat:)) then after curing for a week or more after the last coat, they will go to the buffing wheel. Can't rush finishing.

All look wonderful, Carol. There's something about the pear that I like more though.

Holy smokes! After seeing them, I guess I skipped right over that part! :o Well, if they look any better than they do already, one will need sunglasses to view them up close and personal!!! Again, absolutely beautiful! :D

Gorgeous work Carole. The pear with the blackwood finial really caught my eye, though. I like the "fins" and the taper to the point. You've got a great eye for form. I also gotta agree with Karl. When's the first gallery showing?

Looks like I will have to spend some more time turning minis. I am up to my neck in BLM burl right now.

Well look what the cat drug in!!! What are you doing here?:D I haven't done any minis since I turned those BLM scraps you gave me. Working on a bowl right now that has some wicked holes and inclusions in it. 50% chance it will hold together.

YOu get the finish any better on those and I'll be blinded!

I really don't have the words to express how beautiful those are! Museum Quality doesn't even come close to doing them justice.

Halsey, depends on the wood whether I use the whole Beall routine or just wax. White woods I use white diamond and wax; dark woods I use Tripoli and wax, mixed pieces I may use just a bare buff then the wax buff.

Bruce, me thinks thou doest exaggerate!

Karl and Vaughn, no galleries! I've never even done a show!:o I am planning on trying to get juried in our local Artisan's Guild this June. If that happens, then I will do their show in August and probably their Shop Tour in November.

You are surely having fun, Carole. Love to see how far ahead of me you have gotten. I have turned that second piece you sent me. Just made a regular bowl. Have two coats of thinned poly on it and have four more to go.
