A couple of months ago i went to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center outside of DC and saw some wooden plane restorations in progress and thought some of you might be interested in some photos.

I probably won't be able to post the photos all at once, but here goes.

edit: ugh, sorry about the rotation problem.

Another nice place which almost always has old wooden frame planes under restoration is the Glenn Curtis Museum in Hammondsport NY. They also have early RVs and trailer which were also made by Curtis. Really a neat place to spend an afternoon.

Reminds me of the model airplanes I built as a kid. Thanks for posting.

Dave, thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep it mind it sounds interesting.

Mike, my hat's off to you, I didn't have the patience to build those. That said, it may have been a better use of my time than hunting down model rockets off of trees and roofs, and avoiding a junk yard dog to retrieve them:)
