View Full Version : Clearest Target Coatings Product?

Looking for the most water-clear (non-yellowing) product in the Target coatings line-up. I’m guessing that is EM6000 lacquer, but wanted to check with the experts here. I’m open to other suggestions if folks like another product better (water-based and sprayable with HVLP).

EM6000 and the high build EM7000HB are pretty good in this respect and are less amber than the EM2000, EM8000cv and EM9300. They are also easy to spray.

Agreed. EM-6000 is by far the clearest product TC makes, at least of the ones I've used, including all that Jim listed. It does indeed spray great, too, and looks great when it dries.

If you want water-clear, be cautious about low-sheen finishes. The flatting agent is finely-powdered light-colored minerals. If you apply multiple coats of satin waterborne, the finish has a slight white cast to it. If you must have a low sheen, make your first coats with gloss, and only the last coat with your choice of sheen
