Found an interesting video (https://youtu.be/HzFmy8Xb4C8) showing traditional methods of cultivating, harvesting, and preparing cedar beams for architectural uses. The level of care that goes into the final product starts back with the planting of the trees, and there's a lot about selecting, adapting, and using just the right tools for particular purposes. If you watch through to the end, you'll find a whole new meaning for "hand-sanding!"

I watched the video.
Very cool!
I like the part when the guy moved over to another tree leaving him ladder. I can relate
Ive been working on my live oak the past couple weeks removing dead wood. I’m been working my way up to the upper part of the canopy like a human squirrel.
Good Luck
