Frame for the daughter of a family friend that recently married. He's a current rancher / firefighter in Texas. She's a marketing exec who has left the city to start a small town coffee shop and restaurant. We visited their Barn-dominium after the wedding. I pulled the design elements from many of the items he made in his shop when he fitted out the house.

Thanks Mel. Boy, this place has really gotten to be sleepy-town. All these views and only one comment. I guess we have morphed into a membership of "like" button clickers. The ability to say something in full sentences (even criticism) has become a lost art :D:D:D

Glen,
I like this frame. I like the design. I like the finish.
I could have shortened this post but I haven't any "like" key on my keyboard. Come to think of it--I haven't a phone either!!
'cept the one on the wall where ALL phones belong:D:D:D

That one made me laugh Bruce. Glad you realized I was trying to be funny and was not being a pill.

Glenn, your design provides a G&G flavor combined with a western flavor with an elegance. I'm sure it is treasured. Nicely done, Sir!

Very nicely done! I wish I could think outside the box and come up with stuff like that. I am sure it will be enjoyed for years to come!

I agree but I think the summer is always quieter on the forums. In winter people spend more time in front of the screen. I hope that explains it?

Like me a lot of people are working in their gardens these days and other outside projects. When the weather is very hot or cold not so much :)

BTW, I really like your frame design mostly because it is unusual which provokes interest and catches the eye.

I hear you Keith. I was just trying to tickle the bear a bit. I wasn't trying to be a smarty-pants.

It's all good Glenn :)

Did you cut the mats for the picture? Looks great, the color selection is perfect IMO.

Many years ago I was friends with an older couple who owned and operated a very high tech frame shop. They often had projects that were priceless artifacts from all over the world. Mrs Davis was the first female professional framer in the state of Virginia. I spent many hours in their shop watching them work on the most amazing jobs and with incredible machines. I still have about four thousand dollars of metal framing that they gave me when they retired. My Dad got all of their wooden frame stock, about six thousand dollars worth. I was young and struggling to raise two daughters at the time and couldn't afford to purchase any of their machines, way to rich for my blood. Mrs Davis framed two of my Welding Inspection certification documents that hang on the wall in my shop, she was very particular about her work. I don't know what it would have cost to pay for the framing and matting job but I know I couldn't have afforded to pay for them at the time. I also saw them use museum glass almost daily, big bucks for high end museum glass.

Mrs Davis framed this one for me, they made a whole bunch of them at the time to give away to their friends. There is no glass, it was covered in a clear material and placed in the largest vacuum press on the East Coast at the time. After all these years the picture has never faded.
