Or "The turner that wouldn't give up"
or Bowl 3.0 ....

The 'now' little bowl... well maybe cup.... has been tossed out of my chuck numerous times. It's blown up. Glued back together. It's almost been almost finished a couple of times. Had more catches than I can ever remember having. Edges have chipped, you name it probably has happened.

I decided I was going to finish the thing if I was a minature! When I chucked it up this time it was out of round and not enough left to true it up. So the foot is out of proportion to what it was, but by golly! I finished it!

3 3/4" dia x 2 1/2" spalted dogwood. With spots that are hard as nails! It was much larger when I first started and it has been a much pretty shape three or four times, but I just couldn't toss it. The wood was to pretty.

I like that spalted dog! Very cool wood, I see why you stayed with it. Nice piece!

Thanks. I need to sand the lip a bit more and put another coat of BLO on it.

BTW it was 6" dia when I started. :D LOL

Jeff, you obviously have more fortitude than I!!! After the first "blow", I'd have pitched it! Good save, man! :)

Sounds like you should name it "Kitty" since it has had so many lives! Seriously, getting back in the saddle after a mishap is a good thing (safety considerations taken) and there is no harm in keeping at it. I'm sure you learned a whole lot from the experience and "bowl 4.0" will be easier, too.

Just the right size for displaying all the marbles you lost while turning it!

Nice save Jeff.

Jeff, at least when some one says you've lost your marbles. You can shake your head and point
