I should mention that he has an interesting and relevant point of view on safety. The very same point that some of us been ridiculed for on this forum many times.

I’ve been to the castle (years ago) and seen it first hand. It’s both amazing and befuddling. I can’t relate to that sort of mindset, but…….

My buddy has a cabin in the sierras that was built by a German guy in the 30s.

Cut granite foundation, fireplace, steps, patios, steps, garage, tool shed, walkways, and 6' high wall around the 1.5 acre property.

All by himself AFIK. The place is covered in snow usually 5 months.
