I have a Makita 3612 router tat the collet cause the bit to get stuck. I have a porter Cable router that I don’t use.
Can I use the Porter Cable collets in the Makita router?

Quick check on Amazon, shows new collet nut is less than eight bucks. Picture shows collet included, but description doesn't say so. Does th nut separate from the collet when removed from shaft?

Try Elaire Corp. if you want a really good collet.

I was thinking of Elaire corp. but their Makita inventory consists of one router collet and not the one Kevin has.

Might very well be, I don't keep up with their stock.....................but I do know they will make you anything you want.

I didn't know they'd make to order. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the 1/2" Makita collet is identical to another brand's collet. The trick is knowing which are interchangeable.

I thought some of them were a standard ER collet?
