It's a Unimog. They're not that uncommon, though mostly I have only seen them for sale as military surplus.

I saw a Facebook Marketplace ad for a similar vehicle painted desert camo brown just today. I thought it looked pretty impractical as a big truck like that is not very maneuverable.

Can it drive on the Interstate Highways?

Candy would love something like that and if she is willing to drive it home I'll bid on it.

I'll be surprised if it sells for $15,000, let alone $1500. They're very expensive for what they can do, but they can drive around faster than other backhoe loaders.

I've already got "dibs" on it.

The arborist who took care of our big trees on the previous property had one. A beast and he said it could get him where he needed to be on tough jobs.

A high school classmate has one of these (less attachments). His daughter learned how to drive in it.

Ukraine has mounted rocket launchers on them. I believe they have hydraulic hookups for chainsaws etc.

Not sure that posting 80 photos was a sound marketing decision.

But, the fire extinguisher looks fairly new.

The problem with Gov Planet is that the US government doesn't sell much that's good. There's a pecking order, groups like police departments and schools get first rights to buy stuff. I can remember in the early 2000's a local high school got a 1977 GMC 1 ton 4wd with about 1500 miles on it. It's only use was to be driven from where it was parked to get serviced and back. Stuff like that Unimog often needs repair. The fact that the hood is missing most likely means something broke and it was parked. Either the hood was removed while troubleshooting it or it was needed for another one. It's anyone's guess just how much it will cost to repair it.

That being said if your state lets you register it for road use it would be fun to pull up behind a friend at a light and use the loader to lift the rear of his car off the ground.

They like to take machine tools and wood working tools and steam clean all the oil and grease off them. Then they sit them outside, in a parking lot, not under cover, in the rain for a few months before selling.
