I discovered this folding bench many years ago. It is not my design I got it from someone , somewhere at least 30 years ago. And yes there are many folding bench designs out there but I really never see this one displayed so I am sharing it here.
Any way I have 2 of them currently a small one built from 2 x 3 lumber and a larger one built with 2 x 4 lumber.
The design collapses on it self to pretty flat but long so you can store it along a wall or simply pick it up and move it as needed. To open simply pull it open to 90 degree corners and toss on a work top.
The structure is very strong and durable and as I said I have used the original two I built for many many projects.
The hinges want to be at least door quality heavy duty type. You will see in the detail below shims are required to compensate for the knuckle depending on how the hinge is made.
The beauty of this design is it can be any size and weight. A big and bulky work bench or a light duty table support for holding up your lunch.
Please ask any questions.

Looks good! 2x3 is such a useful lumber size.

I had never heard of a 2x3 until I immigrated to the east coast. It is a clever design. I have several dozen old door hinges that I am saving for something. I may give that a try.
