I have an existing aluminum framed patio cover. It looks kind of like Pan decking for concrete floors. With flat troughs and raised beams between. Problem is there is six inch wide fiberglass? clipped in between every two foot wide sheet. The fiberglass is failing and leaks as it unclips.
I would like to just replace it all but keep the supports. Problem is there are no rafters or purlins. This means each sheet has to span eight feet top to bottom with no mid length support. All the metal I see needs purlins every 4-6 feet.
The bottom has brick in between the corner posts and I do not want to rip that all out and rebuild. the verticals are only 2x2 so must stay metal to be strong enough.
