Been going over a few of the saws..to see IF any need a refreshing....Not only do I have a very early Disston (no sons) No. 7
498878
But there was even a set of twins..
498879
Also No.7....just that these 2 have the "& SONS" in there etch...the one in the back was sold to a Rail Road....instead of Henry's quotation it has a Property of The ....R.W.

Compared to the "first model"
498880
Both models do have "nibs"
498881
Just thinking the first one has been sharpened a few more times...

I did get the D8 Rip saw sharpened up..
498882
And hung back up on the Cabinet door....there is a Mystery going on, though..
498883
What I thought was just a D8 Panel saw.....has the same etch as the twins....? 10 ppi, skew back, 20" length

The No.7s in the shop right now are all (3) 7ppi, 26" length,,,Straight back....hmmm?

Am still trying to fully read the Panel saw's etch....I don't THINK it is a No.7....despite what looks like a "7" in the etch....can't see a "D".....Hmmm...nice little saw, though...

Steven,

The panel saw handle looks like what I would expect for a #7. Agreed, looks like a nice saw.
